About District 11 Basketball Officials

Who We Are

In South Carolina, varsity scheduling is administered by the SC High School League (SCHSL) office in Columbia. There are 12 sub-groups throughout the state (called districts). Each district is responsible for the training and education of officials that live within their geographic borders as well as scheduling of games on the sub-varsity level, pre-season and holiday tournament games, scrimmages and jamborees. Our local district is comprised mainly of Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties. We are known as District 11 of the South Carolina Basketball Officials Association (SCBOA).

Our mission and the mission of SCBOA is to provide training and develop officials.

All varsity level games are scheduled from a central office in Columbia using a web-based scheduling tool called ArbiterSports. As a local district, we also schedule all sub-varsity level games using ArbiterSports so, you will eventually have two ArbiterSports groups that you belong to). As a new or transfer official, our district requires that you make yourself available (at least once weekly during the season) to officiate sub-varsity level games. Of course, we prefer our less-seasoned officials to try and gain as much on-court experience as possible via sub-varsity assignments or local recreation leagues.
